Highlights
Attending Marree Camel Cup
Visiting the Breakaway Mountains outside of Coober Pedy.
Staying 3 nights at Arckarings Station in the Painted Desert,
Visiting Birdsville, William Creek Roadhouse, Pink Roadhouse and Marla,
Staying 4 nights at Coober Pedy and 2 nights at Innamincka and Cameron Corner
Travelling the entire distance of the Oodnadatta Track, Birdsville & Strzelecki Tracks,
Staying 3 nights at Andramooka and visiting Woomera, Roxby Downs and Olympic Mine,
Staying 3 nights at Arkaroola Wilderness Sanctuary in the Flinders Ranges.
Staying 3 nights at the Mutawintji National Park campsite to view aboriginal artwork and surrounding hills and views.
Staying 2 nights at White Cliffs and then onto Wilcannia for 3 nights to view the Menindee Lake and southern areas of the Darling River. Then onto Tilpa for 3 nights to tour the northern end of the Darling River.

Personal Responsibility & Support
Those attending are responsible for their rigs, trip tours and fees.
The Support Crew George Stevens Drover and Willy & Danna Hines will be assisting, will attend to logistical and administrative requirements.
Itinerary
The itinerary is designed with 'escape routes' and locations may change to to environmental and/or road conditions.
It is an indicative itinerary, meaning desert locations will be determined by members on a daily basis.
The LPD will travel approximately 4,300 klms on dirt, stones, corrugations and bull dust.
Accommodation will be organised along the route when definite dates of arrival are decided.
Apart from a few van parks, members will need to pay fees as the LPD progresses.
Pets
Unfortunately, Pets are not allowed on this LPD due to National & State Park travel
Registration Process
Expressions of Interest until 1 July 2025.
Formal registrations will commence from 1 July 2025 until 1 December 2025
- Fees - Rig Fee $50
- First nights accommodation at Channel country Tourist Park,Birdsville Caravan Park and Marree Caravan Park.
Fees will be required at time of formal registration. Other site fees and tours will be paid by members as we travel.
