UPDATE – 2025 Riverina Roaming Tagalong

A revised itinerary is now available through the link below. Rig fees and deposits for Griffith Caravan Park are due by 31 March 2025. Payment is $71.00. Expect more payment requests as bookings are made. Registration will stay open until we can't secure more sites.

Overview of Tagalong:

There are two options available for this tagalong. If you are attending the NACC Rally in Mudgee, you will join the Tagalong there. If you want to do the Riverina component only, you will meet up with the Drover in Forbes. This tagalong allows you the chance to explore the Riverina area of NSW with stays in Junee, Lockhart, Deniliquin, Hay, Gogeldrie, Griffith, and Hillston before heading for home. Other towns of interest which you might visit are Leeton, Jerilderie, Temora, Coolamon and Darlington Point. Things to do include must-try foodie experiences, top wineries, breweries and distilleries and unforgettable outdoor experiences.

Our adventure will cover approximately 3 500 kms over 40 days including the NACC Rally, or 31 days if you join after the NACC Rally.  We shall be staying in a mixture of caravan parks, showgrounds and free camps (including the mandatory pub stays).

Map of Tagalong

caravan clubTagalong Highlights: Starting at Forbes, situated on the Lachlan River, absorb its history and heritage buildings, or take in the inland sculpture trail, “Sculpture down the Lachlan”. Junee is full of surprises, a town which revolves around its delectable Liquorice and Chocolate Factory. Lockhart has earned a reputation as Verandah Town. Deniliquin is an aquatic playground on the beautiful Edward River which meanders into the spectacular Murray Valley National Park. Hay, set on the banks of the Murrumbidgee River in the Riverina region, is the kind of place where you’ll want to slow down. That may be to enjoy long outback sunsets over the Hay Plains.

The Gogeldrie Riverside Park is 15 minutes from Leeton. Art Deco architecture rules in Leeton, a charm-filled town in the Riverina. Go wine and whisky tasting, browse produce markets and enjoy birdwatching. Four nights in Griffith will allow you to soak up its history and heritage, wine and dine to your heart’s content, or join a local tour to hear first-hand about what makes Griffith tick. Next stop is Hillston, a small town big on country charm.

Your Itinerary:

The itinerary shows the availability of toilets/showers/power/water and dump points, etc.  This information is correct as of September 2024, but things do change.  It is important that you keep up to date with this itinerary (if you do find an issue, please advise the Drover). Site fees given in the itinerary are correct as of September 2024.  No bookings have been made to date and are not likely to be made until the close of the Expressions of Interest. You will be advised of any significant changes to the itinerary and/or site fees.

Time has been allowed at most locations to enable participants to take advantage of any local tours and/or activities. Additionally, you will be able to cover a lot of the Riverina whilst the caravan is parked up. You are encouraged to do your own research on each location to determine what may interest you.

Rig Suitability:

Suitable for all rigs, but due to some limited free camping, ‘self-contained’ would be recommended.  Toilets and showers are available at all locations.

Expression of Interest and Registration Protocol:

Expression of Interest closing date: 31 March 2025. Please note that Tagalong spaces will be allocated upon receipt of the Jotform Expression of Interest Form, then Registration AND payment of the registration fee. Once the maximum of 12 rigs has been reached a ‘waiting list’ will operate.
Registration & Payment Protocol:
Registration fees will include site deposits where required and non-refundable rig fees, payable with registration.
Members attending will need to pay site fees and balance of caravan park fees on arrival and pay for tours, other ticketed events and other fees as the Tagalong progresses.
Updates and amended itineraries will be sent to those members who express interest and will be placed on the website at “Updates”.
Jotform dates – advise when you will be joining (and leaving) this tagalong.

Support Crew: The Drover for this Tagalong is Trevor Fiedler. You may wish to volunteer to assist in the planning and/or organisation of this Tagalong.
