Some of the world’s best preserved Dinosaur fossils can be found in outback Queensland. The triangle links Townsville, Hughenden, Richmond, Winton and Longreach. In addition to the 98 million years of history, the trail includes some modern icons of Australia including the Waltzing Matilda Centre, Gondwana Stars Dark Skies Observatory and the Qantas Founders Museum.

Step back in time and follow in the footsteps of giants on Australia’s Dinosaur Trail. The world-renowned outback triangle that links the historic towns of Hughenden, Richmond and Winton is home to some of the world’s best preserved dinosaur fossils all scattered across Outback Queensland for hundreds of millions of years.To unearth these prehistoric giants, all you need is a car and a plan. Here’s how to drive the great Australian Dinosaur Trail. Ā Also in this trip we will visit a working cattle station just out from Julia Creek.

Rig Suitability:

Suitable for all rigs, but due to there being a lot of off grid camping, ā€˜self-containment ’ is required.Ā  What is self contained, it basically means you have everything you need onboard, toilet, shower, cooking equipment and the ability to capture and hold your waste water. There are various ways to do this, onboard tank or just a simple tote. The information for a simple tote click this link. TOTE INFO. Toilets and showers will be available at some not all locations.

Expression of Interest and Registration Protocol:

• Expression of Interest closing date: 24 January 2025. Please note that Tagalong spaces will be allocated upon receipt of the Jotform Expression of Interest Form, then Registration and payment of the registration fee. Once the maximum of 12 rigs has been reached a ā€˜waiting list’ will operate.
• Registration & Payment Protocol:
• Registration fees will include site deposits where required and non-refundable rig fees, payable with registration.
• Members attending will need to pay site fees and balance of caravan park fees on arrival and pay for tours, other ticketed events and other fees as the Tagalong progresses.
• Updates and amended itineraries will be sent to those members who express interest and will be placed on the website at ā€œUpdatesā€.
• Jotform dates – advise when you will be joining (and leaving) this tagalong.
